Rolling stock

Own railcar fleet – a strategic factor

Hupac has its own fleet of around 8,139 rail platforms, allowing the company to operate freely in the market and respond rapidly to new demands. Since 2010 Hupac has been a certified ECM (Entity in Charge of Maintenance) and takes full responsibility for the maintenance of the wagons. It is supported in this demanding task by its own workshop and a wheel set reconditioning centre in Busto Arsizio.

Extra low wagons for high volume

The Hupac fleet is composed of company-owned railway wagons designed for the transalpine transport of loading units with a high profile. For decades, Hupac has developed innovative rolling stock together with the manufacturers, taking into account the requirements of the market, railway infrastructure and train operations. Over the years Hupac's wagons for combined transport have continuously become longer, lower, capable of carrying heavier loads, and quieter.

Stop the noise!

All new Hupac wagons are equipped with low-noise synthetic brake pads. This makes Hupac one of the first operators to deploy the K-pad technology on this scale. In this way, Hupac meets the specifications of the Swiss transport policy to reduce noise in rail transportation.
