Our main safety objectives relate to the prevention of accidents in terminals and on the railway lines, the integrity of load units and smooth operation of the wagon fleet.

Hupac conforms to the statutory safety provisions; if necessary, the company voluntarily implements additional measures.

Dangerous goods

Hupac has put in place a centralised service specifically dedicated to this kind of transport, headed by a Dangerous Goods compliance advisor, appointed and trained according to the provisions of Directive 96/35/CE. 

 

Monitoring and improvement

Hupac regularly verifies the safety level in the company to identify any shortcomings and intervening in critical situations. Monitoring and controlling provide the basis for the continuous improvement process.

New intermodal service between Poland and Italy: shuttle Gliwice <=> Pordenone

Hupac offers new opportunities for climate-friendly intermodal transport between Italy and Poland. On 10.10.2022, a direct shuttle train will start in Gliwice, situated in one of the most important industrial areas of our continent, and reach Pordenone in northeast Italy. The first departure in the opposite direction is on 12.10.2022

 

The service is open to all transport operators.

 

The Gliwice <=> Pordenone shuttle initially runs with a frequency of 3 departures per week. The distance of around 900 km is covered with an attractive A/C transit time. Traction is provided by Mercitalia Rail, while terminal partners are Hupac SpA in Pordenone and PKP Cargo Connect in Gliwice.
