In 2013 Hupac transported 17.1 million tons of goods throughout Europe and to the Far East. By shifting freight from road to rail, the environment has benefited from a reduction in C02 emissions in the order of 751,000 tons. This corresponds to a reduction of 88% compared to pure road transport. The energy savings amount to 8.8 billion kilojoules or minus 73% compared to road transport.
