The reparation works of the Gotthard line will take about a month, as SBB informed.
The line interruption involves around 50 Hupac trains per day. Hupac plans to divert a possibly high number of trains on alternative routes. These are the Lötschberg/Simplon, Brenner und Modane corridors.
At present we are recovering the consigments that are still waiting on the terminals because of the interruption. The first diversions have already taken place. All international relations are served, but the overall medium capacity is only around 30% of normal volumes.
For the coming weeks a plan is being elaborated together with the railways. The short term objective is to guarantee at least half of the normal offer on all international relations. The following, not involved traffic connections are fully operative: Genk <=> Busto Rotterdam <=> Novara Duisburg/Köln HGK <=> Novara Antwerp/Rotterdam/Taulov <=> Verona The Hupac staff is at disposal of customers 24 h for detailed information on the single products. |
